The flowers inside this cross are real flowers grown by Mexican artisans, hand-dried to preserve their color, and placed individually under clear resin. At this small scale, the artisans typically use the most delicate flowers in their inventory — small wildflowers, tiny pressed buds, gypsophila (baby's breath), and single petals from larger blooms. The composition varies from piece to piece because each one is arranged by hand, but all pieces share the same hand-painted blue background.
