This cross pendant is made of solid sterling silver and filled with real flowers grown, dried, and arranged by hand in Mexico City. The flowers — including a white daisy, pink petals, and purple wildflowers — are set against a vivid blue resin background, sealed beneath clear resin to preserve their color and form for years. Because the arrangement is done by hand, no two crosses are exactly alike, though all remaining pieces share the same blue background and similar floral composition shown in the photo.

The cross hangs from an 18-inch silver-plated chain and arrives ready to gift. The pendant itself is sterling silver — the same 925 silver standard found in hallmarked fine jewelry. The chain is silver-plated, sized, and finished to complement the pendant at an accessible overall price.

This piece comes from the same third-generation artisan workshop in Mexico City that produces our Our Lady of Guadalupe pressed-flower devotional pieces — the same workshop whose work is also sold at the gift shops of the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

About the Pressed Flower Tradition

Real flowers, not printed images

The flowers inside this cross are real. Mexican artisans grow daisies, statice, gypsophila (baby's breath), wildflowers, and seasonal blooms, then hand-dry each one to preserve its color before sealing it under resin. The process has roots in Mexican folk art traditions that long predate mass-produced devotional jewelry, and it survives today in a few small workshops in central Mexico.

Each cross is unique within a shared design.

Because the flowers are arranged individually by hand, every cross is one of a kind. The piece you receive will share the same overall composition as the photo — a central daisy with smaller flowers and petals around it, set against a blue resin background. Still, the exact placement and selection of individual flowers will vary slightly from piece to piece. This is the nature of handmade artisan work, and it is what gives each piece its character.

Care Instructions

This necklace combines two materials that need slightly different care.

The sterling silver cross frame is durable but can tarnish over time through exposure to air, sulfur, and certain chemicals. Tarnish on sterling silver can be cleaned with a soft silver polishing cloth. Avoid silver dips on this piece because the chemicals can damage the resin and the flowers underneath.

The pressed flowers sealed under resin are stable but should be protected from prolonged direct sunlight, high heat, and moisture. UV light can fade the colors over time; high heat can yellow the resin; water exposure can compromise the seal. Remove the necklace before showering, swimming, exercising, or sleeping. Store it in the original white box or a soft pouch in a cool, dry place away from windows.

The silver-plated chain has a shorter expected lifespan than the sterling silver pendant. If the chain shows wear over the years, the pendant can be transferred to a new chain — the bail at the top of the cross will accept any standard chain.
